UAW Spokesperson:
Rank & File: “Isn’t the electric car supposed to be the future of automobile industry? Does the UAW have a future in the auto industry, or not?”
UAW Spokesperson:
Rank & File: “Will you please get back to us ASAP. We feel like we’re caught in an ambush and taking fire from all sides.”
UAW Spokesperson:
GM CEO: “Cal, we need some more concessions from these parts workers. Tell them we won’t be giving them that raise we promised. Tell the trade yo-yos we are going to cut their wages. Tell the bargaining chairs to break the master agreement. Solidarity is a thing of the past. Tell them whipsawing is the new pattern bargaining. Tell them we will need a lot more concessions as well. Things like attendance and overtime and work schedules. And Sweetcakes, tell them they will have to give up the right to strike too. We can’t have that.”
UAW Spokesperson: “Yes, sir. Right away, sir.”
