Kelly’s book Hammer and Hoe: Alabama Communists During the Depression. “Who knew that there were hundreds, possibly thousands of Black communists organizing in Alabama during the 1930s?” Abu Jamal asked. Kelly’s books “is nothing short of a revelation.”
