Evo Morales: In Venezuela there was a Democratic ‘Fiesta’ on December 6

“There is peace, tranquility and yesterday there was a great democratic ‘fiesta’,” the former president of Bolivia and international observer of Venezuela’s elections, Evo Morales, emphasized this Monday.

“In the international press it is said that here there is a dictatorship and violence, but here there is no violence, there is peace,” reiterated the ex-president.

Morales participated together with the ex-presidents of Ecuador and Paraguay, Rafael Correa and Fernando Lugo, in a conference sponsored by the Samuel Robinson Institute. The presentation was called “Dialogue Between Civilizations.” Venezuelan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, also spoke.

In the parliamentary elections this Sunday, over 200 international observers participated through the International Accompaniment Program, the national news agency of Venezuela (AVN_ highlighted.

The observers also included the former Prime Minister of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, former Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo, and the deposed President of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, among other high-level international observers.

According to the first bulletin of the National Electoral Council (CNE), the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) Simón Bolívar obtained more than 67% of the positions. The people elected their 277 representatives to the National Assembly (AN) for the 2021-2026 period, which will begin on January 5 2021.(Ultimas Noticias)
