“After a year in office, Trump and the GOP majority betrayed their promises to working people, instead serving billionaire elites and wealthy corporations,” said the executive director of Americans for Tax Fairness.

“The ‘Trump corollary’ to the Monroe Doctrine—applied in recent hours with violent force over the skies of Caracas—is the single greatest threat to peace and prosperity that the Americas confront today,” said Progressive International.

“The standoff on the streets of Los Angeles,” warned critics, “shows how truly eager Trump and his administration are to turn America’s vast warmaking powers inward on the president’s domestic foes.”

“Trans people, refugees, and migrants are not the threats,” the group said. “The billionaires with close ties to our new president who flash the Nazi salute and seek to replace the old elites with a new caste—that is the real threat to America.”
