| El presidente de Bolivia, Evo Morales, rendirá hoy homenaje al Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara, en el 78 aniversario de su natalicio y en la aldea de La Higuera, donde el guerrillero vivió sus últimas horas.
Según confirmó la Presidencia de la República, el mandatario encabezará el tributo, consistente en la apertura de un centro médico donado por Cuba y la graduación de un grupo de alfabetizados por la campaña “Yo sí puedo”, asesorada y equipada por la isla. En opinión del dirigente político boliviano Hugo Moldiz, esos avances de la política gubernamental demuestran la vigencia de la lucha del revolucionario argentino-cubano, la cual buscaba que este pueblo tuviera acceso a la salud y la educación. En el acto en La Higuera, confirmó la Presidencia, participarán también dirigentes populares llegados desde distintos puntos del país, así como miembros del gobierno y el embajador de Cuba en Bolivia, Rafael Dausá. También en la presente jornada, Morales inaugurará el moderno equipamiento del hospital estatal de Vallegrande, cuya antigua lavandería se ha convertido en una especie de santuario, por haberse mostrado allí los restos de Che Guevara, tras su asesinato, en octubre de 1967. La ciudad del oriental departamento de Santa Cruz guardó durante casi 30 años los restos del revolucionario y varios de sus compañeros, enterrados ocultamente en las afueras de la localidad y rescatados en 1997 por un equipo científico cubano, para su repatriación a Cuba. Tanto en Vallegrande como en La Higuera y en las poblaciones ubicadas en el trayecto montañoso de dos horas entre ambos puntos, las estaciones de radio comunitarias llaman desde ayer a los alfabetizados y demás ciudadanos, a concentrarse en La Higuera. Reportes de la zona indican que hay gran expectativa por la primera visita de Evo Morales a la zona como jefe de Estado, y por el hecho que, por primera vez en la historia, un presidente rendirá homenaje a Che Guevara. Moldiz, coordinador del Estado Mayor del Pueblo — frente político y de masas que sustenta al gobierno –, destacó la coherencia del homenaje presidencial con la trayectoria de lucha de Morales y la identificación de su gobierno con los ideales del guerrillero. El mandatario indígena incluyó a Che entre los héroes caídos en más de cinco siglos de lucha indígena y popular, al asumir la Presidencia, el pasado 22 de enero. |
The President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, will pay homage to Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara today, on the 78th anniversary of his birth, in the village of La Higuera, where the guerrilla lived his last hours.
As the office of the President of the Republic confirmed, the President will head the tribute, consisting of the opening of a medical center donated by Cuba and the graduation of a group of people who gained literacy thanks to the “Yes I Can” campaign, the campaign advised and equipped by Cuba. Moldiz, coordinator of People’s General Staff — a political front of the masses who support the government — emphasized the consistency of the presidential tribute with the path of Morales’ struggle and the identification of his government with the ideals of the guerrilla. The indigenous President included Che among the fallen heroes of more than five centuries of the indigenous and popular struggle, upon assuming the presidency, on the 22nd of January this year. |
