A third mass grave was uncovered on May 8 in the vicinity of what used to be Al-Shifa Medical Complex, bringing the total number of discovered mass graves to seven.

The bodies of dozens of executed Palestinians, including doctors, nurses, women, and children, were found, the chairman of the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, Ramy Abdu, said.

Abdu further noted that Israeli occupation forces destroyed the reception center at the hospital, despite knowing that patients and refugees were there. Euro-Med teams found the bodiless heads of Palestinian martyrs killed by “Israel” at the site.

The Government Media Office in Gaza condemned the Israeli crimes, adding that “the number of mass graves found inside hospitals is seven: one in Kamal Adwan Hospital, three in Al-Shifa Medical Complex, and three in the Nasser Medical Complex… 520 martyrs have been recovered from these graves so far.”

Gazan officials held the United States, the international community, and the Israeli occupation responsible for the mass graves and the crimes committed against the people of Palestine.

One giant mass grave

Rescue teams reported finding bodies wrapped in plastic bags with Hebrew writings on them, with many being zip-tied, and some being completely pulverized to ashes. Officials called for a probe to determine what weapons “Israel” used to commit its crimes.

Earlier, UN experts lambasted the ongoing and systematic aggression against Palestinians in Gaza, expressing they are horrified at details surrounding mass graves that have been found in the Strip at the Nasser and Al-Shifa medical complexes.

According to the experts, many of the bodies discovered exhibited “signs of torture and summary executions and potential instances of people buried alive.”

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said that over 10,000 people remain buried under the rubble in the Strip, seven months into the ongoing genocidal war launched by the Israeli occupation last October.

The UN Aid Coordination Office, OCHA, stated that “with the current primitive tools available, it might require up to three years to recover the bodies,” warning that rising temperatures are expected to accelerate the decomposition of bodies, heightening the risk of disease transmission and increasing concerns about public health.
