Reading from m-Talá

i ask myself if in this phrase all the yews of the free city of Paris lean and fall, all my reflections on language — the word that shuts the edifice of Language is the same that opens to the wind’s dominion — it was possible in those days to cross not just one but two, three, endless rainbows, each portal and fruition. . . .

Chus Pato is a Galician writer and activist in Spain, who is a member of Redes Escarlata and the Frente Popular Galega.  Video by Erica Scourti.  In the video, Caroline Bergvall and Pato read an excerpt from Pato’s m-Talá (Trans. Erín Moure).  The reading was part of “Translated Acts 3,” Contemporary Poetics Research Centre, Birkbeck, 27-28 November 2009.
