Chile’s Student Uprising

Trailer

Chile’s Student Uprising tells the story of the student protests taking place in Chile today demanding a free and state-funded education system and radical change in society.  The film puts the protests in their historical context of widespread dissatisfaction with the economic model put in place under the Pinochet dictatorship (1973-1990) that still remains largely in place.

The film’s director Roberto Navarrete travelled to Chile in 2011 and 2012 to speak not only to student leaders such as Camila Vallejo and Giorgio Jackson, but also to ordinary students, and to understand why their protests are causing such effect in Chile and inspiring others in Chile and beyond.

We are hoping to raise £1,200 which will go towards covering the costs of making the film and promoting it in the UK and around the world.  We plan to have the film ready for late November 2013 and will host screenings of it across the UK and elsewhere.  Please check the goodies we are offering for those that can support the film financially.

We know times are hard, so even if you can’t support the film financially, remember you can still help us by:

  1. Sharing this campaign with your friends and contacts
  2. Liking the film’s page on Facebook and following us on Twitter

Thanks for reading and for any support you can give to our project!
