Venezuela Strongly Condemns Terrorist Attacks in Syria

Communiqué

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Comandante Hugo Chávez, in the name of the Venezuelan people and its government, expresses his strongest condemnation of the series of terrorist attacks perpetrated over the last several hours in the Syrian Arab Republic, which tragically left at least 40 people dead and hundreds wounded.

The Bolivarian government sends its most heartfelt condolences to the brave Syrian people, particularly the families and friends of the victims of this crime, at the same time reiterating its denunciation of the policy of interference and destabilization aimed to thwart the initiatives for dialogue and negotiated solution to the conflict that have been promoted by the government of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in expressing his commitment to the principles of self-determination and independence, reaffirms his support for the government of the Syrian Arab Republic and his determination to continue deepening the strategic alliance oriented to guarantee the sovereignty and wellbeing of both the Syrian and Venezuelan peoples.
