Tim Beal is a retired New Zealand academic who has written extensively on Asia with a special focus on the Korean Peninsula. His recent work includes the entry on Korea for The Palgrave Encyclopedia of Imperialism and Anti-Imperialism (New York: Springer, 2019), ‘U.S. Imperialism, the Korean Peninsula and Trumpian Disruption’ (International Critical Thought, Beijing, 2020), and ‘In Line of Fire: The Korean Peninsula in U.S.-China Strategy’ (Monthly Review, New York, 2021).
