It was already known that the U.S. can not be trusted with anything that it says. What counts is what the U.S. does and there it has so far shown no positive move towards China.

For months, mainstream media across the Western world—in particular English-language outlets based in the constituent members of the ‘Five Eyes’ global spying network—have been rabidly awash with terrifying news of secret “Chinese police stations” operating the world over.

According to the U.S. newspaper The Wall Street Journal, which had the “honor” of putting the lie into circulation, there is an agreement between Cuba and China, in military matters, for the installation of an alleged espionage base.

Reduced to essentials, the U.S. problem is that it possesses no external economic levers powerful enough to derail China’s economy.

It’s worth remembering that fear of an Asian menace in the United States led to the nation’s first major immigration restrictions and mass imprisonment of Japanese-Americans during World War II. It continues to lead to racist murder and other anti-Asian crimes.
