One of the Goals Is to Open Offices in Various Countries of the World: CIM Is Determined Not to Repeat Errors of the Socialism of the 20th Century [Una de las metas es abrir sedes en varios países del mundo Instan a no repetir errores del socialismo del siglo XX]

Caracas.  A pesar de tener activo cinco meses, ayer viernes fue presentado oficialmente el Centro Internacional Miranda (CMI), que tendrá como objetivo determinar los aspectos ideológicos que enmarcarán el proceso de transformación del país hacia el modo del socialismo del siglo XXI, con la participación de académicos e intelectuales, no sólo venezolanos, sino de diversos países.

Luis Bonilla, presidente del CMI, afirmó que el centro servirá para la articulación del pensamiento crítico a nivel mundial con la intelectualidad de Venezuela, para avanzar hacia la democracia participativa y protagónica que desarrolla la revolución.

Explicó que el CMI cuenta con nueve programas de investigación que abarcan diversos temas de interés para la comunidad nacional e internacional, como el de la participación popular, el nuevo modelo productivo, el tema de la integración a nivel continental, los medios de comunicación, y el medio ambiente.

En el acto, que se llevó a cabo en las Anauco Suites de esta ciudad, participaron Michael Lebowitz, de Canadá, Theotonio Dos Santos, de Brasil, Juan Carlos Monedero, de España y Martha Harnecker, entre otros investigadores.

Lebowitz instó a profundizar en el conocimiento de las experiencias socialistas vividas en otros países para no repetir errores, mientras Bonilla Molina explicó que las conclusiones a las que vaya llegando el centro, a través del trabajo de los académicos serán entregadas al Gobierno y al presidente Hugo Chávez en particular, además de editarse libros y videos en DVD que entregarán a las comunidades, que podrán profundizar en el pensamiento socialista del siglo XXI.  Añadió que el CMI abrirá sedes en diversos países del mundo, para dar a conocer un socialismo profundamente democrático y humanista.

País líder.

Teothonio Dos Santos, dijo que Venezuela tiene un importante papel en Latinoamérica, no sólo por ser clave en la Opep, sino por su liderazgo, acrecentado por la incorporación al Mercosur.  Dijo que Venezuela debe estar en el Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU, y que la integración regional es una exigencia, a consecuencia del avance de la economía mundial.

Caracas.  Though the Centro Internacional Miranda (CIM) has been active for five months, yesterday (Friday) was the official launch of the CIM, whose aim is to define the ideological aspects that will frame the process of transformation of Venezuela towards the 21st-century socialist mode, with participation of academics and intellectuals, not only from Venezuela, but also from diverse countries.

Luis Bonilla, President of the CIM, affirmed that the center will serve to link critical thought of the world with Venezuelan intellect, to advance towards the participatory and protagonistic democracy that develops the revolution.

Luis Bonilla explained that the CIM has nine research programs that include diverse subjects of interest to the national and international community, such as popular participation, the new production model, continental integration, mass media, and the environment.

In the opening ceremony, which was held in the Anauco Suites of Caracas, Michael Lebowitz of Canada, Theotonio Dos Santos of Brazil, Juan Carlos Monedero of Spain, and Martha Harnecker, among other researchers, participated.

Lebowitz strongly pushed for deepening the knowledge of socialist experiences lived in other countries, so as not to repeat errors, while Bonilla Molina explained that the conclusions at which the center will arrive through the work of academics will be passed onto the Government and President Hugo Chávez in particular and that the center will publish books and DVDs to be delivered to communities, which will help deepen the 21st-century socialist thought.  He added that the CIM will open offices in diverse countries of the world, to disseminate a profoundly democratic and humanist socialism.

Leading Country.

Teothonio Dos Santos said that Venezuela has an important role in Latin America, not only by being the key in the OPEC, but by its leadership, enhanced by its incorporation into the Mercosur.  He said that Venezuela must have a seat in the UN Security Council and that regional integration is an exigency, as a result of the advance of world economy.
