| Caracas, 25 ago (PL) Partidos y movimientos de izquierda de América Latina y el Caribe fueron convocados hoy por el presidente venezolano, Hugo Chávez, a realizar en 2008 una reunión para crear una organización internacional.
Al hablar ante miles de aspirantes a miembros del Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV), Chávez precisó que recientemente conversó esa posibilidad con los presidentes de Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, de Bolivia, Evo Morales y otros líderes. Dijo que 2008 “podría ser muy bueno para convocar a una reunión de partidos de izquierda en América Latina y de allí organizar una especie de Internacional, una organización de partidos y movimientos de izquierda de América Latina y del Caribe”. Chávez atribuyó al PSUV un papel muy activo en el ámbito internacional, en el contexto de un resurgimiento de movimientos y partidos de izquierda, en Asia, Europa, Estados Unidos y Canadá. “Hay un resurgimiento de la conciencia de los pueblos y de allí deben seguir creciendo los movimientos, líderes y liderazgos de una izquierda nueva, de un proyecto nuevo”, expresó. El mandatario recordó que más de cinco millones de venezolanos se registraron como aspirantes a militantes del PSUV y están estructurados casi 18 mil batallones (organizaciones de base) con 1,5 millones de participantes regulares en sus reuniones. Explicó que desde el inicio consideró suficiente la creación del partido con dos millones de miembros, activos y disciplinados, con lo cual sería el partido mayor de la historia de Venezuela y de América Latina. En su encuentro, Chávez pidió a los aspirantes a miembros del PSUV una ofensiva para garantizar la aprobación en referendo nacional de un proyecto de reforma constitucional enfilada a garantizar el socialismo en el país suramericano. |
Caracas, 25 Aug. (PL) — Parties and movements of the Left of Latin America and the Caribbean were invited today by the Venezuelan President, Hugo Chávez, to have a meeting in 2008 to create an international organization.
Speaking before thousands of applicants for membership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Chávez specified that he recently talked about this possibility with the Presidents of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, and of Bolivia, Evo Morales, and other leaders. Chávez said that 2008 “could be a very good year for convoking a meeting of parties of the Left in Latin America and organizing a kind of International there, an organization of parties and movements of the Left of Latin America and the Caribbean.” Chávez attributed to the PSUV a very active role on the international level, in the context of a resurgence of movements and parties of the Left, in Asia, Europe, the United States, and Canada. “There is a resurgence of consciousness of peoples, and from there, they must continue growing the movements, leaders, and leaderships of a new Left, of a new project,” Chávez stated. The leader of Venezuela called attention to the fact that more than five million Venezuelans registered as applicants to become militants of the PSUV, and almost 18,000 battalions (base organizations) are organized, with 1.5 million regular participants in their meetings. Chávez explained that at the beginning he thought the creation of the party of two million active and disciplined members would be sufficient to make it the greatest party in the history of Venezuela and Latin America. In its meeting, Chávez asked the aspiring members of the PSUV to wage an offensive to guarantee the national approval at the referendum of a project of constitutional reform aimed at securing socialism in this South American country. |
