At 83 years old, U.S. political prisoner Ruchell “Cinque” Magee is to be released following a lifetime spent under the boot of oppression.

Without bail, without charges being framed, without justice!

Nine political prisoners of the Mapuche people in southern Chile have been on hunger strike since November 27. Now, their protest has reached a dangerous and crucial moment.

The U.S. government has many political prisoners, including journalists; national security state whistleblowers; Black, Indigenous, and Latino revolutionaries; foreign diplomats; Muslims detained without trial; women who defended themselves from attacks; and environmental activists.

Association for Protection of Democratic Rights (APDR) rose to the very need of the hour by staging a protest meeting for release of political prisoners. Even if not such large numbers, an event of most qualitative significance in light of neo-fascism sharpening it’s fangs day by day.

The activist-lawyer was granted default bail on December 1 following more than three years of her incarceration without trial in the Bhima Koregaon case in which a number of other activists were also implicated.

The health of the 70-year-old activist has deteriorated following the move. Prison authorities are now denying the family and his lawyer phone calls with him on the pretext that inmates can now be met in jail physically.

A growing list and guide to materials highlighting a few of the many of the political prisoners who have been incarcerated in the United States many still fighting for liberation.

The signatories, including Noam Chomsky and Olga Tokarczuk, sought that the temporary order to release prisoners in light of COVID-19 be applied to these political prisoners as well.
